RGAM Transportation provides private transportation in Scottsdale for travelers arriving at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, including service to Old Town Scottsdale, luxury resorts, hotels, residences, golf destinations, corporate locations, and other destinations throughout the Valley.
This guide covers the major Phoenix Airport to Scottsdale transportation options, what travelers should know before leaving Sky Harbor, and how to choose the right service for their trip.
How Far Is Scottsdale From Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport?
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is conveniently located near Scottsdale, but travel time depends on where in Scottsdale you’re headed. Old Town Scottsdale, central Scottsdale, North Scottsdale, and the city’s resort areas are spread across a large area, so there isn’t one travel time that applies to every trip.
Traffic can also make a significant difference, particularly during weekday commuting periods, major events, spring training, and Scottsdale’s busiest tourism seasons. When arranging transportation from Phoenix Airport to Scottsdale, allow additional time when your schedule includes a meeting, dinner reservation, tee time, resort check-in, or another time-sensitive commitment.
Travelers staying at a resort or hotel can also arrange private hotel transportation in advance, helping coordinate airport arrival with transportation directly to their Scottsdale accommodations.
For travelers using prearranged private transportation, providing your flight information and exact Scottsdale destination in advance allows the transportation provider to plan the pickup around your arrival and destination rather than arranging a ride after you’ve landed.
Transportation Options From Phoenix Airport to Scottsdale
Travelers arriving at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport have several transportation options for reaching Scottsdale. The best choice depends on your schedule, destination, group size, luggage, and how much flexibility or privacy you want after your flight.
For some travelers, rideshare or a rental car may be sufficient. Others prefer to have their transportation arranged before arriving in Phoenix. Understanding the differences can help you choose the option that best fits your trip.
Private Chauffeur Transportation
Prearranged private airport transportation provides a dedicated vehicle and professional chauffeur for your trip from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport to Scottsdale. Instead of requesting a vehicle after landing, your transportation is scheduled around your itinerary and destination.
This option can be particularly useful for executives, families, couples, resort guests, and groups traveling with luggage. RGAM can also coordinate transportation based on the number of passengers and vehicle requirements, with options available through our private transportation fleet.
Rideshare Services
Rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft are another option for traveling from Phoenix Airport to Scottsdale. They can work well for travelers who prefer to request transportation after arriving and do not require a prearranged chauffeur or specific vehicle.
Pickup procedures, vehicle availability, pricing, and wait times can vary depending on demand and airport conditions. Travelers should also confirm the designated rideshare pickup location at Phoenix Sky Harbor before requesting a ride.
Taxi Service
Taxi service is available for travelers who want an on-demand ride without using a rideshare app. Like rideshare, taxis can be practical for straightforward trips, although the experience differs from having a vehicle and chauffeur reserved specifically for your itinerary.
Rental Cars
A rental car may make sense if you plan to drive frequently during your stay in Scottsdale or explore destinations throughout Arizona independently. However, travelers should also consider rental procedures, parking, resort parking or valet charges, navigation, and driving after a long flight.
If your Scottsdale visit is centered around a resort, conference, corporate meetings, golf, dining, or scheduled events, you may find that arranging transportation only when needed is more convenient than keeping a rental vehicle throughout the trip.
Which Phoenix Airport Transportation Option Is Best?
There is no single transportation option that is right for every traveler. The best choice depends on what matters most for your trip.
- Private chauffeur service: Best for travelers who value prearranged pickup, privacy, professional service, luggage assistance, and a dedicated vehicle.
- Rideshare: Best for travelers comfortable arranging transportation after arrival through an app.
- Taxi: Best for travelers looking for a traditional on-demand transportation option.
- Rental car: Best for travelers who want to drive themselves throughout their stay.
For travelers who prefer to have their arrival organized in advance, RGAM provides private Scottsdale transportation from Phoenix Sky Harbor to hotels, resorts, residences, corporate destinations, restaurants, golf courses, and other locations throughout Scottsdale.
What to Expect When You Arrive at Phoenix Sky Harbor
Arriving at a busy airport can be one of the least predictable parts of a trip. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport serves millions of travelers each year, and pickup procedures vary depending on the type of transportation you choose. Knowing what to expect before you land can make your transfer from Phoenix Sky Harbor to Scottsdale much easier.
Prearranged Airport Pickup
With prearranged airport transfer service, your transportation is scheduled before your arrival. When making your reservation, provide your airline, flight number, arrival date, expected arrival time, number of passengers, luggage requirements, and your Scottsdale destination.
Providing accurate flight information helps your transportation provider coordinate the pickup with your arrival. This is especially helpful when a flight arrives earlier or later than originally scheduled.
Meeting Your Chauffeur at PHX
Pickup instructions can vary based on the terminal, airport procedures, and the service arranged for your reservation. Your chauffeur or RGAM Transportation will provide the appropriate meeting instructions so you know where to proceed after collecting your luggage.
Travelers who want additional arrival assistance should discuss their preferences when making the reservation. For executives, families, first-time visitors, and travelers unfamiliar with Phoenix Sky Harbor, having transportation arranged before landing can remove much of the uncertainty from the airport arrival process.
Traveling With Luggage or a Group
Passenger count is only part of choosing the right vehicle. Luggage can require just as much planning, particularly when several travelers are arriving together with full-size suitcases, golf equipment, business materials, or other large items.
RGAM Transportation offers multiple vehicle options for private airport transfers. Travelers can review the RGAM fleet and provide passenger and luggage details when reserving so an appropriate vehicle can be selected for the trip.
Business Travelers Arriving in Phoenix
For business travelers, the airport transfer may be the first scheduled part of a larger itinerary. Transportation may continue directly to a Scottsdale office, conference, hotel, restaurant, resort, or meeting rather than simply ending at a hotel.
RGAM also provides corporate transportation in Phoenix and Scottsdale for executives and business travelers who need transportation beyond the initial airport transfer.
Phoenix Airport Transportation to Scottsdale Hotels and Resorts
Scottsdale is home to many of Arizona’s premier hotels and resorts, making resort transportation an important consideration for visitors arriving at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). Prearranging your transportation can make the transition from your flight to your Scottsdale accommodations much easier.
Instead of searching for transportation after collecting your luggage, travelers can arrange their airport pickup and Scottsdale destination before arriving in Phoenix. This can be especially convenient after a long flight, when traveling with luggage, or when your hotel check-in, dinner reservation, meeting, or other plans are already scheduled.
RGAM Transportation provides private hotel transportation services for travelers staying at hotels and resorts throughout Scottsdale and the surrounding area. Transportation can be arranged for your airport arrival as well as additional trips during your stay.
Transportation From Phoenix Airport to Old Town Scottsdale
Old Town Scottsdale is one of the area’s most popular destinations for dining, nightlife, shopping, galleries, hotels, and special events. Travelers heading from Phoenix Sky Harbor directly to Old Town can arrange private transportation based on their flight arrival time and final destination.
If your plans include multiple destinations during your visit, private Scottsdale transportation can also be scheduled for restaurants, shopping, golf, meetings, events, and other activities beyond your initial airport transfer.
Transportation From Phoenix Airport to Scottsdale Resorts
For resort guests, transportation needs often extend beyond the initial trip from PHX. Your Scottsdale itinerary may include golf courses, restaurants, shopping, business meetings, entertainment, or special events throughout the Valley.
Using scheduled chauffeur service allows you to arrange transportation when you need it without keeping a rental vehicle for your entire stay. This can be particularly useful for couples, families, executives, and groups following a planned itinerary.
Heading to Paradise Valley From Phoenix Sky Harbor?
Not every traveler arriving at Phoenix Sky Harbor is staying within Scottsdale itself. Many of the Valley’s luxury resorts and private residences are located in neighboring Paradise Valley.
RGAM also provides private transportation in Paradise Valley for airport transfers, resorts, restaurants, events, residences, and other scheduled transportation needs.
Transportation During Your Scottsdale Stay
Airport transportation may only be the beginning of your itinerary. Scottsdale visitors frequently need transportation between their hotel or resort and restaurants, golf courses, corporate meetings, weddings, concerts, sporting events, and other destinations.
For special occasions, RGAM also provides event transportation and wedding transportation services throughout the Phoenix and Scottsdale area.
